Son of Poseidon, Perseus “Percy” Jackson’s life is no picnic. He has sea-green eyes and a heart of gold. Trouble follows wherever he goes and being a demigod, especially a child of the big three, monsters are after his life, charming? Well, Percy has an irresistible charm, you have to try hard to not adore him! Even Annabeth wasn’t fond of him at first, but then she came under his spell.
Percy was given the choice of immortality, but he tamed his temptation, further, he greets death like an old friend, (who by the way, is his uncle). A person so humble, modest and truthful could not want anything but to make the world a better place. An avid reader of Ancient Greek literature, Percy struggles with mortal languages owing to his dyslexia and ADHD but learns to use this vulnerability to enhance his vigilance. In the beginning, Percy has low self-esteem, but achieves self-actualisation in the end.
I think he is a flawless heroic character, who works hard to convert his weaknesses into his strength. But I can’t overlook this demigod’s only mortal flaw. He would do anything for his loved ones, he’d run right into hell and back (he did). Bearer of the riptide, Percy is a talented and natural swordsman. His war strategies and techniques are always crazy yet marvellous. He is courageous, intuitive and a composed warrior. Throughout the series, Percy has always come out victorious from dangerous situations.
